In the Children’s Rights Day, in the “Where are we in the 20th Years of The United Nations Convention on The Rights of The Child?” topical forum which was organized with the cooperation of Istanbul University and Protection of Children Rights Platform and in which convention sections were evaluated hold on 19 November 2014 at IU Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Cemil Bilsel Conference Hall. In the forum whose opening speeches was given by Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Muammer Yılmaz and President of Child’s Rights Platform Ad. Figen Özbek, numerous speakers came together to evaluate solution offers. The event begun with mini concert of Borusan Children’s Choir.
Head of Law of Domestic Relations Association Bahadır Erdem, Head of Children Rights Summit Progress Association Ebrize Çeltikçi, Ad. Seda Akço, Head of AKUT Association (Search&Rescue Association) Ali Nasuh Mahruki, IU Faculty of Medicine Consultant of Child Cardiology Pof. Dr. Rukiye Eker Ömeroğlu, Boğaziçi University Faculty of Education Head of Department Prof. Dr. Fatoş Erkman and AÇEV (Mother Child Education Foundation) Deputy Director General Serkan Kahyalıoğlu attended as speaker in the first session of “Where are we in the 20th Years of The United Nations Convention on The Rights of The Child?” entitled whose moderator was Ali İhsan Varol.
Ad. Figen Özbek, Didem Çapa and İdil İncekara moderated the second session of the forum that analyses about 20th years of Convention on The Rights of The Child, implementations and suggestions were discussed and Ad. Figen Samuray, Prof. Dr. Gçkhan Malkoç, Prof. Dr. Günseli Öztekin Gelgel, Dr. Jülide Ergin, Dr. Nuşin Sarımurat Baydemir, Ad. Figen Erbek, Osman Kaya, Semra Çetinkaya, Prof. Dr. Şükran Şıpka, Yasemin Cankurtaran Öney attended as speaker. In the 20th years of the inuring of Nations Convention on The Rights of The Child, it was emphasized that teaching of child rights is primarily government’s duty.
