Starting from sculpture, uniting the aesthetic of machine and conceptual questionings, Server Demirtaş’s exhibition which includes his latest kinetic sculptures, emphasize poetic dialogue between machine and human from the point of human body.
While ‘Time Machine’ exhibition scrutinizes the contradiction of human emotions opposite to nature of machine and ironic human body, İt also aims to emphasize Demirtaş’s technique in sculpting. Demirtaş’s materials from automobile wiper to coaster brake comes together with his unique techniques and gives motion to his sculptures. It makes us think about relationships like science and art, technology and human in a journey from Al Jazeera robots, Leonardo da Vinci machines to Jean Tinhuely’s kinetic sculptures in 20th century.
Curated by Özlem İnay Erten, the exhibition can be visited at Bozlu Art Project between September 3 and October 17.
