Ozer’s “The Tales of The City” photograph exhibition consists of several cities that he visited in his overseas journeys in the last 10 years. Giving the opening speech, Istanbul Kultur University Rector Prof. Dr. S. Semahat Demir said “ It is very important to expand the world, Çetin Özer is a voyager circling the globe. These works are itinerary for me.”
Saying that the photograph in the poster is special to him, Özer, told this photograph’s story:
“All have special stories but this one is very special. Two people’s photo which I used for the poster and shot in Venedik. We went to Italy to hold an exhibition as a team of IDGSA. We were travelling and shooting with a photographer friend. We went down the stairs. When I turned back and looked, I saw that I could capture a great photo. But I did not want my friend to take the same photo. I took some other photos and waited him to move away. People were going down the bridge crowdedly. I made the frame and started to wait. As soon as these two people came to the bridgehead, I pressed the shutter and the photograph which got me hold this “The Tales of The City” exhibition, was shot at that moment. Every photographer has his or her own method… Mine is waiting.”
The exhibition can be visited between 19th of November and 10th of December at Istanbul Kultur University Art Gallery.
