The 7th ISSEP Conference ın Istanbul

Hosted by Istanbul University and Ankara University in Istanbul, the 7th ISSEP Conference held between 22nd-25th September. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Kayacan made a presentation introducing Istanbul University. After the presentation, Istanbul University’s State Conservatory artists performed a Turkish folk music concert. The opening ceremony continued with speeches from the president of Istanbul University’s  Department of Informatics and co president Prof.Dr.Sevinç Gülseçen and the president of Ankara University’s Department of Informatics Prof. Dr. Yasemin Gülbahar  and ended with assistant Prof. Gürel Çetin’s presentation introducing Turkey. Approximately 60 participants from Germany, Nigeria, Slovakia, Llithuania and from other European countries joined the conference.


Informatics in Schools: Situation, Evolution and Perspectives (ISSEP), first started at Klagenfurt, continued at Vilnius in 2006, Torun in 2008, Zurich in 2010, Bratislova in 2011 and Oldenberg in 2013. The  purpose of the last conference, held in İstanbul, has an characteristics of a forum for researchers. Creating an environment for making goals and ideals come true, the program gives an opportunity for academicians to think deeply.
