İÜ Faculty of Letters Retired Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Saray shared his comments about relationship between Turkey and NATO with audience.
Stating that America and Russia’s policy about Turkey is unknown and information about these two state in Turkey extremely few, Prof. Dr. Saray said: “We need to help youth get true information at this point. It should be known that science of history has nothing to do with emotions.”
Saying that NATO placed nuclear missile in Turkey that got negative response by Russia, Prof. Dr. Saray said “NATO was able to hit Russia especially Moscow easily with these missiles. Against this, Russia tried many ways to revenge” and showed Asala, PKK, Armenian Genocide allegations as an example.
Stating that every event in history should be evaluated according to conditions of era, Prof. Dr. Saray answered questions of the audience at the end of the talk.
