Closing ceremony of the project hosted by Turkish Gynaecology And Obstetric Association (TJOD) and conducted by Women’s Research And Education Center (KSAUM), Adile Sadullah Mermerci Police Vocational High School (ASMPMYO) was held at İU Prof. Dr. Cemal Bilsel Conference Hall.


Assoc. Dr. Sevgi Uçan Çubukçu in behalf of KSAUM, 1th Grade of PMYO Police Commissioner Hasan Hüseyin Şahin in behalf of ASMPYMO, Prof. Dr. Oya Gökmen in behalf of TJOD and Prof. Dr. Halis Yunus Ersöz spoke in behalf of İstanbul University in the opening of conference whose moderator was Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba Günel.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aynur Soydan Erdemir made a speech about “The History of Violence Against Women in Turkey.” She also gave historical informations about women’s organization and partaking in politics.

Dr. Berrin Oktay Yılmaz talked about “Contribution of International Mechanisms About Struggle with Violence Against Women in Turkey.” Stating that “Shaping of violence agains woman with socio-economic and different reasons provide continuance of male dominance” she said that these results are approved and supported by society.

“The Perception of Police Vocational High School Students on Violence Against Women” was handled by Prof. Dr. Nurcan Özkaplan. Özkaplan analysed the survey results. She said that after training which was given to students the perception of students got better substantially. She also stated that woman students are more sensitive about violence against woman.

Specialist Psychological Counselor Feriha Şenkaya Dildar evaluated psychological traumas inferred by domestic violence exposing children’s painting in her “To Be A Child of Domestic Violence Victim” titled speech.
