Organized for the 17th time, Rendez-Vous Istanbul is the last film festival of each year. “Escobar: Paradise Lost”, the first directory attempt of Andrea Di Stefano will be screened for the opening of the festival on December 6.
The festival gathering film lovers has 10 sections. In the “Gala” section two films stand out: “Clouds of Sils Maria” directed by Olivier Assayas starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart and Chloe Grace Moretz and “Samba” directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, two directors of the film “Intouchables”, starring Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Rahar Rahim.
“Independent Films for Film Dependents” section will air “Jimi: All Is by My Side” by the writer of “12 Years a Slave” John Ridley, telling the story of Jimi Hendrix’s debut. “Pellicle Nightmares” section will screen “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” which is considered the best horror movie of all time.
This year the venues are Cinemaximum Zorlu Beşiktaş, Cinemaximum Kanyon Levent and French Institute Istanbul.
Ticket price for matinees is 5 TL and 10 TL for soirees. Within the scope of “tickets on reserve” 5 free tickets will be reserved at the screening theatres for students. Students can purchase those tickets by showing a valid ID. Screenings in the French Institute are free of charge.
