İSTANBUL UNIVERSITY’S NEW PROJECTS EXHIBITED IN INNOVATION WEEK

İstanbul University Forest Industry Engineering Department Academic Members; Associate Prof. Dr. Zeki Candan and Prof. Dr. Turgay Akbulut, İTÜ Textile Engineering Academic Members Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Kılıç and Prof. Dr. Ali Demir, Alexandria University Textile Engineering Department Academic Members Associate Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassanın, National Research Centre of Egypt scientist Dr. Tamer Hamouda, Forest Industry Engineer Mert Yıldırım, Forest Industry Engineering Department students Gani Can Somuncu, Anıl Sarak, Sivan Sunobar, Berfu Öztahtacı, Turan Sergen Divrik and Pelin Yaşar were in the International Project Team. This team developed a project called “Developing Hybrid Biocomposites For Furnitures of High Performance”

“Nanotechnology Implementation on Furnitures” and “Colourful and Enviromentally Friendly Furnitures” projects were prepared by Associate Prof. Dr. Zeki Candan, Gani Can Somuncu, Pelin Yaşar and Mert Yıldırım were also invited to the Innovation week. Their projects were exhibited in the exhibition hall together with the awarded projects.

The Project named “Nanocellulose” conducted by Associate Prof. Dr. Zeki Candan and the Project named “The Usage of Enviromentally Friendly Powder Coating in Timber Composite Panels” conducted by Prof. Dr. Turgay Akbulut, Ass. Prof. Dr. Zeki Candan and Research Assistant Memiş Akkuş were also exhibited in İstanbul University Technology Transfer Center booth.

By means of ARGE and innovation, Turkey’s Innovation Week is carried out with the aim of developing high added products, increasing export volume and improving university-industry collobration.
