TÜSİAD’s new president is Cansen Başaran Symes. Symes graduated from IU Faculty of Administration, she is married and has a child. She is the third elected female president of TÜSİAD after Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ and Ümit Boyner. Symes, also the board president of Allianz Insurance Inc. and Allianz Life and Retirement Inc. took over TÜSİAD’s presidency from Haluk Dinçer.
New president Symes, received “The Most Successful Businesswoman of the Year” award from Dünya Newspaper and outstanding service award as one of the most successful Turkish businesswomen as part of the “International Women’s Day” activities of Lions Clubs International Association. She was also given “Future’s Global Leader” title in 2000 by World Economy Forum.
