In the opening speech, İU Molecular Biology and Genetical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Şule Arı said that because of the lackness in the field of genetically modified organism studies, she thinks this workshop was held late.
Prof. Dr. Arı infers “We are really pleased to contribute developing legal legislation for the scientists who are interested in GMO” During her speech, she gave information about the workshop program. İU Molecular Biology and Genetical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Nermin Gözükırmızı made a presentation with the title “Food Production: Historical View” Head of the Workshop Prof. Dr. Arı’s presentation was named “New Generation GMO”. Besides, the other presentation titles are “Genetically Modified Animals” presented by Prof. Dr. Sema Birler from İU Veterinary Faculty, “Biogenetic Legislation and Needs” presented by Prof. Dr. Hakan Yardımcı from Ankara University Veterinary Faculty Microbiology Department. After the presentations, the platelets were given to the participants. When the debates were finished, the workshop was concluded.
