CRIME AND PUNISHMENT MOVIE FESTIVAL IS STARTING

On the anthology that is put together under the theme of “D/SCR/M/NAT/ON” contains 10 short movies, 7 documentaries 30 feature-length productions of which 10 of them is to compete for Altın Terazi Feature-Length Movie Award. Furthermore, a wide academic programme will be held with the attendence of the academicians from various countries. A lot of topics such as “D/scr/m/nat/on in judicary” and “D/scr/m/nat/on due to belief” will be discussed at the panels within the academic programme.

The jury of this year’s Crime and Punishment Movie Festival is decided. Demet Akbağ, Serdar Akar, Assistant Prof. Dr. Selman Dursun, Sevin Okyay ve Lucie Bader will be judging for feature-length movies whereas the judges for the short movies are Ozan Güven, Mehmet Acar and Engin Ertan.

Festival will start with the projection of the movie Alias Maria. The festival movies will meet with the audience between October 16th-22th 2015 at Beyoğlu Atlas and Kadıköy Caddebostan Kültür Merkezi theatres. On the other hand, the documentary productions will be shown at Atlas Theatre on October 19th, through all day, and the whole anthology will be available to watch with one ticket.

The first panel of the festival will be held on October 17th 2015 at 16.00 in Beyoğlu Atlas Theatre. Ivan Madeo, Prof. Dr. Walter Stoffel, Lawyer Fırat Söyle, Alin Tasçıyan, Ayta Sözeri will be attending as speakers to the panel which is themed upon “From Common Sense to the Cinema: Gender Identity and Tendency” that is on The Circle Movie. The second panel will also be held in Beyoğlu Atlas Theatre on October 18th at 14.00. The subject of the panel that Samir Mehanovic, Dr. Amila Ferhatovic, Reshad Strik, Faysal Soysal and Coşkun Aral will be attending, is going to be about the movie “The Fog of Srebrenica” on the question of “Did the fog fade away?”
