Prof. Dr. Serengil who participated to “Climate Change” panel organized by Bursa Regional Directorate of Forestry said “According to 1990 datas which are accepted as basic criteria, carbon release increased by 140 percent. While per capita carbon release is 5.8, it is by 20 percent in Canada and about by 20 percent in USA. We are in a good position about carbon absorption. Carbon absorption will increase as required care is maintained to our forests.
Touching on the subject of climate change Prof. Dr. Serengil said “Biomass energy generation should be encouraged. Raw stuff of wood burning should be decreased. ”Burning of long duration used furnitures are welcomed warmly.” Prof. Dr. Serengil remarked the importance of early intervention for forest fire.
